I don't see MLS adapting themselves to FIFA calendar when you are asking business Man (Club Owners) to have their product (Soccer) compete against winters sports in United States of the like of NBA - Basketball, NHL - Hockey, NFL and College Football ..
In the Summer ... the Only sport MLS compete against is baseball .... Now you are asking them to compete against NBA, NHL, NFL & College Football & Baskeball in winter time ... and does anybody see any blooded soccer fan seating in the cold at NY Giants Statium, Toronto, Columbus, Chicago, New England and etc .. ..
What the hell Sepp Blatter thinking here .. .. The scheduble works fine in Europe and the rest of world but in the United States ... I don't see .... Even Russia move their league to the summer time ..

Bana,
Fifa does not care about any of that. They make the rules because they have a standard to keep! You either follow them or pay the price.. And I agree with that! If they let everyone do as they please the game will eventually become a joke. The US wanted to change the game to 4 quarters as opposed to two halves during the 1994 WC so that they can have more commercial, what a joke?

No one is addvacating to let everyone do has they please ... even rules have to be apply if it makes senses ...
Would you play Soccer in Quebec in December or would you ratter play it in May, June or July ....
As we always say .. Soccer is a business, has owners of MLS I don't see how you going to make money going up against NBA, NHL, NFL and College sports in middle of winters .... .. In some part of the world the major sport is Soccer/Football ... and the US .. there is 5 major sport ..... FIFA need not change the rules, they just need to bend it .....
didn't FIFA bend the rule and allow artificial turf in the sport ...
Not change the rule, ....Bend it .. .

All I can say about that is simple" Fifa does not need America" soccer is already too big too huge and to old to have it changed right now, and American could be careless about soccer. If Ameica wants to be a nation of soccer, she has to comply with fifa rules.
