Subject:Arresting Comm. of alleged drug trafficker Daniel Evinx dismissed

LES CAYES, Haiti - The Government Commissioner in Aux Cayes maybe out of a job according to sources who say the Ministry of Justice has replaced him for allegedly wrongfully arresting a close friend to President Michel Martelly, who was in the possession of 23 kilos of marijuana.

Arrested on Thursday, Daniel Evinx, hotelier and businessman considered to be a representative of the National Palace in Les Cayes says he was out on his yacht when he came across drugs floating in the sea.
Evinx says he called police upon taking the marijuana to his house, and on Friday, Haitian National Police Spokesman Garry Desrosiers corroborated with Evinx's story.

Desrosiers said he didn't understand why the citizen Daniel Evinx was arrested when "he was helping the police by finding the drugs." Desrosiers says officers was contacted by Evinx and that it was not the police who arrested the businessman by the Government Commissioner Jean-Marie Saloman Junior. Police in Aux Cayes have since released Daniel Evinx from detention.

It is rumored that Commissioner Saloman will be replaced by Yves Olivier. As of Saturday morning both have denied receiving any such official correspondence from the Ministry of Justice.

Former Senator and Former Departmental Delegate for the Martelly Administration, Gabriel Fortune, believes the government will remove Commissioner Saloman because it is a government that is actively involved in drug-trafficking and Evinx is a worker for the administration.

Quite possible the source of the drugs are from the Dominican Navy shooting it out with a group of men in a Go-Fast vessel who also jettisoned their drug cargo. The Dominicans possibly did not retrieve all the drugs AS IS NORMAL. The debris fields are quite large during a chase.

But when does an "alleged drug trafficker" contact the police to tell them he found drugs floating at sea. Commissioner Saloman, Haiti needs intelligent personnel occupying its government positions. Best of luck on your next employment sir!
